Fus Do Rah : Dragon Shouts in Skyrim

Bethesda Softworks a game company responsible for the series "The Elder Scrolls" and it's latest version of the game called "Skyrim" announced they were creating an update patch for this game this week. This game would offer in some XBOX 360 Kinect voice options for augmenting game play.

New Voice Commands

  • Dragon Shouts (actually say the shouts aloud)
  • Map Navigation Tools (say where you want the map to locate)
  • HotKey Selections (select several items to be voice command hotkeys)

Here is the official video that Bethesda released this week.

So,
Isn't this what we were hoping for? They did a similar augment for the game Mass Effect 3, allowing you to access some conversation commands, and switch weapons on the fly. Some user's however were looking for an update that was far more powerful, a controller free update. If you have the PC version of the game and a Kinect you can modify it to work this way. Check that out here.

This new modification (the official one) will be available for download later this month and will arrive as a free update to your version of Skyrim as soon as its available.

Enter Google Project Glass

The Internet exploded with news this week with the introduction of Google Project Glass. These augmented reality glasses are presented as a way to hands free interface with the world around you.

  • Make and Receive Video / Audio phone calls
  • Send and Receive Texts
  • Google Maps
  • Calender / Timer update system
  • Real world interface layovers

This video was released this week as an introduction to Google Project Glass. It shows a user of the project going about his day augmented by this new wonder of technology.

An Amazing video I really enjoyed watching it, this would be an interesting object to play around with. However some folks here on the Internet have already come up with some counter argument pieces to reference how they see the device. Among the parody for this video 2 of them stuck out in my mind. First an Advertisement campaign parody then a pop up issue parody. Enjoy.

Wow how obtrusive was that? How possible do you think this to be? What does Google have to say about this video. What about you?

So a funny twist on the device, lets also hope there is a way to adjust the transparency.

Well Google, I must say, you've done it again...
